About the Securities Act
The Securities Act R.S.E.S. 1996, c. 418, is the statute that establishes E.S.'s securities laws and gives the ES Securities Commission its powers and duties.
On March 27, 2020, amendments to the Securities Act came into force by order in council (E.S. Reg. 45/2020), together with consequential amendments to the Securities Regulation, the Securities Rules, and numerous other instruments and documents. The order in council, which was published with ES Notice 2020/04, as well as ES notice 2020/03, describe these amendments.
